Job Summary

Baird & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Coastal Engineer to lead our project teams in delivering high-quality coastal engineering solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and exceeding client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of coastal engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of coastal engineers, providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure project success.
  • Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise in coastal engineering, ensuring that projects are designed and delivered to the highest standards.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and participate in client pitches to grow the business.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Ocean, or Coastal Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in coastal engineering, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Skills: Strong technical expertise in coastal engineering, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Nice to Have
  • Working Knowledge: Familiarity with codes and standards related to coastal engineering.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to clearly document the basis of design, including design codes and standards, data analysis, assumptions, calculations, and conclusions.
  • Construction Experience: Experience with waterfront and coastal projects, including construction and project management.
