About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Library and Information Technician to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Library Technician - Content Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and maintenance of high-quality digital content for our health sciences library.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creation and maintenance of subject guides, patient education publications, and educational/training content.
  • Apply plain language standards and editorial copyediting standards to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Develop and maintain HTML coding skills to create engaging and accessible content.
  • Manage databases and content management systems to ensure seamless access to information.
  • Assist with literature searches and provide research support to patrons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement content strategies that meet the needs of our users.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a recognized Library and Information Technician Program.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years library experience or equivalent required.
  • Recent Health Science Library experience preferred.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Products, HTML coding, database management, CANVA, and e-learning authoring software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property legislation and regulations, including copyright, database licensing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and colleagues.
