About the Role:

The Beaver Bank-Monarch Drive Elementary is seeking a highly skilled Library Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the library facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the operation of the library facility, providing direct service to students and/or teachers.
  • Support students and volunteers under the supervision of teaching staff in coordinating library activities and the use of library facilities.
  • Process, store, loan, and maintain all materials in the library.

Requirements:

A Diploma in Library Information Management or equivalent training and experience is required.

Working Conditions:

This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar, including time off at Christmas, March Break, and Summer break.

The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Library Support Specialists are paid every two weeks, with the annual salary paid across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for working a 10-month school year.

Working Hours:

Library Support Specialists in 100% positions work 6.5 hours daily (not including unpaid lunch break). Schedule and hours vary for percentage positions.
