Job Summary:
The Beaver Bank-Monarch Drive Elementary is seeking a highly skilled Library Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in coordinating the operation of the library facility and providing direct service to students and/or teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate library activities and the use of library facilities to enhance student learning.
- Support students and volunteers under the supervision of teaching staff.
- Process, store, loan, and maintain all materials in the library.
- Work in a team environment, reporting directly to the School Principal or designate.
Requirements:
A Diploma in Library Information Management or equivalent training and experience is required.
Work Schedule:
This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar, including time off at Christmas, March Break, and Summer break.
Compensation:
The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Benefits:
Library Support Specialists are paid every two weeks, with the annual salary paid across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for working a 10-month school year. The annual salary for term positions less than a school year is pro-rated over the length of the term.
Working Hours:
Library Support Specialists in 100% positions work 6.5 hours daily (not including unpaid lunch break). Schedule and hours vary for percentage positions.
