About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Library and Information Technician to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Library Technician - Content Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the operational needs of our library, including access services, training and education, copyright and permissions, web presence and engagement, patient education materials, content management, and literature search.

Major Responsibilities

As a Library Technician - Content Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of subject guides, patient education publications, and educational/training content.
  • Assisting with content management in HTML environments, such as Shore Point.
  • Providing technical support to patrons with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Developing and maintaining working relationships with counterparts within the organization.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in library and information technology. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognized Library and Information Technician Program diploma or degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of library experience or equivalent.
  • Recent Health Science Library experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Products, HTML coding, database management, CANVA, and e-learning authoring software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary range of $23.19 - $26.24 hourly, or $42, - $47, annually. In addition, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
