Senior Civil Project Manager

Gulf Operators, Ltd. is a leading civil contractor with extensive experience in all aspects of civil work, including drilling and blasting, concrete work, excavation, water and sewer, and aggregate production and sales.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced work environment and gain exposure to a wide range of industrial, commercial, infrastructure, and residential projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Project Manager to lead and manage our client relationships and business development with major civil and industrial partners.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and an entrepreneurial spirit to promote and develop new and repeat business opportunities with our partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with major civil and industrial customers, including ownership of day-to-day relationships with key decision makers on site and project team, job scopes, estimates, and resource plans.
  2. Plan and control the construction of allocated projects to ensure completion in accordance with design requirements, safety standards, and time and cost restraints to achieve profit objectives.
  3. Manage sub-contractors and suppliers.
  4. Collaborate with and lead the project team toward preparation of a professional and economical set of plans and specifications.
  5. Ensure strong communication with team members.
  6. Identify areas of opportunities to add value to the customer, including reviewing products for cost-effectiveness of design and material selection.
  7. Tendering, contract awards, and contract management.
  8. Prepare budget and cost report tracking.
  9. Quantify design changes.
  10. Manage progress claims and change orders with customers.
  11. Act as a coach, mentor, and resource to project team.
  12. Ensure projects meet Health, Safety, and Environment requirements.
Required Competencies:
  1. Civil Engineering Degree with 5-10+ years' experience directly on large civil projects.
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification would be considered an asset.
  3. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation would be considered an asset or equivalent working experience.
  4. Strong ability and experience utilizing MS Project.
  5. Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
  6. Demonstrate strong leadership skills within the field of expertise and ability to coach and mentor others.
  7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  8. Excellent time management skills.
  9. Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills with strong communication to maintain transparency between site and project team.
