About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Down East Hospitality Incorporated. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service establishment, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our food meets the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities
    • Direct and supervise the activities of food service staff, including food preparation and portioning.
    • Coordinate the workflow to ensure efficient service and minimize wait times.
  • Train and Develop Staff
    • Train new staff members in job duties, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Quality Control and Customer Service
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
    • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Prepare and submit reports as required.
Work Environment

As a Food Service Supervisor, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to stand for extended periods and walk frequently. You must be able to work under pressure and maintain a high level of productivity in a dynamic environment.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service establishment.
  • Work Setting
    • Food service establishment.
    • Coffee shop.
  • Supervision
    • 5-10 people.
    • Food service counter attendants and food preparers.
  • Transportation/Travel Information
    • Own transportation.
