About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist to join our team at 09 Irving Oil Limited. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the Information and Technology category, leading sourcing initiatives, procuring assets, and managing supplier contracts, relationships, and performance across various business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement multi-year category sourcing strategies utilizing best practices and industry standards.
  • Manage the strategic sourcing process, including RFx initiatives, proposal evaluations, negotiation strategies, contract negotiations, execution, and maintenance.
  • Understand and align markets, strategies, priorities, and plans to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with IT contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and increased value from supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement Total Cost of Ownership reduction initiatives and identify savings opportunities.
  • Manage contracts and supplier relationships, including the development and implementation of supply management methodologies, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with mentoring, learning, and coaching junior and intermediate members of the team.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in business or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience negotiating and managing IT contracts is a requirement.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or other similar designation is an asset.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Financial acumen is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (create, populate, update).
