Position: Senior Tax Policy Consultant

Internal Title: Senior Actuarial Production Consultant
Reports To: Director, Inforce and Tax Policy
Department: Individual Financial Reporting
Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid position. You will be required to work in our office a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, along with an additional fifth (5th) assigned day each month. You are encouraged to work from the office more than the minimum requirement, and there may be roles necessitating more in-office presence.

The Opportunity: Accoravillage is expanding We are seeking a proactive Senior Actuarial Production Consultant to become a vital member of our Individual Actuarial Production team. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, exceptional customer service aptitude, and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance efficiency and processes.

In this capacity, you will collaborate with our Individual Life Operations team to manage policyholder inquiries, oversee taxation matters related to Individual Life policies, and uphold the integrity of tax administration systems and inforce illustration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer subject matter expertise related to policyholder taxation
  • Draft tax-related communications for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in year-end tax reporting activities
  • Identify and initiate appropriate actions regarding issues related to both internal and client-generated requests for inforce policies
  • Ensure the integrity of administration systems, operational processes, and inforce illustration systems concerning policyholder tax calculations and relevant legislation for all Individual Life and Health products
  • Evaluate the processes executed by the Individual Actuarial Production team
  • Propose and implement enhancements to existing processes

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient negotiation, collaboration, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VBA
  • Solid understanding of SQL
  • Familiarity with a programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++)
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external clients
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines for various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of individual life and health products is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Automation Suite Tools (e.g., Pyautogui, Selenium) is a plus
  • An actuarial designation (e.g., ASA or ACIA) is beneficial (no exam support will be provided)
