Role Overview

As a Vision Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience. Your responsibilities will include gathering accurate patient histories, conducting diagnostic tests, and capturing images using advanced optometric technology. You will facilitate smooth patient transitions from reception to examination rooms and eyewear galleries, collaborating effectively with your colleagues. You will utilize technology extensively in your role, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR). A willingness to learn new technologies and a commitment to enhancing the office's use of EMR for patient care are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by the optometrist.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and calibrated.
  • Collect and document preliminary patient case histories.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests as instructed by the optometrist.
  • Assist the doctor in the examination room by taking medical notes using electronic records.
  • Support contact lens training, manage diagnostic lens orders, and follow up with patients.
  • Learn various aspects of patient reception and optical styling to provide support to the team as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the leadership team.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in internet usage and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong typing skills with a minimum of 50 words per minute.
  • Excellent spelling and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with optometry or medical office procedures is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a professional approach to work.

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary range of $35,800 to $48,530 per year.
