Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Millwright to join our team at Stuart Olson, a leading provider of industrial maintenance services. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain multi-stage pumps, reciprocating pumps, gearboxes, and steam turbines
- Perform general maintenance duties on industrial construction projects
- Read diagrams, schematic drawings, blueprints, and service manuals to determine work procedures
- Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
- Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
- Perform predictive and operational procedures
- Repair and/or replace defective parts
- Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Maintain an inventory of replacement parts
- Prepare layout including material selection, sequence planning and methods of work
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards
- Ability to machine small parts with precision
- Report all incidents, including damages/non-damages, injury/non-injury incidents
- Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required
- Ability to use lathe and milling machine proficiently
Requirements:
- Journeyman Millwright ticket
- Energy Safety Canada certifications: H2S Awareness, CSO Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Monitor Elevated Work Platform
- Valid driver's license
- Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
Working Conditions:
- Working at heights
- Working in a confined space
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean-shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
