Job Title: Millwright Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Millwright Technician to join our team at Stuart Olson. As a Millwright Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and steam turbines.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and steam turbines
• Read and interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and blueprints to determine work procedures
• Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
• Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
• Perform predictive and operational procedures
• Repair and/or replace defective parts
• Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Maintain an inventory of replacement parts
• Prepare layout including material selection, sequence planning and methods of work
• Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards
• Ability to machine small parts with precision
• Report all incidents, "near miss" incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents
• Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required
• Ability to use lathe and milling machine proficiently

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Millwright ticket
• Energy Safety Canada:
• H2S Awareness
• CSO
• Fall Protection
• Confined Space Entry Monitor
• Elevated Work Platform
• Valid driver's license
• Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions:

• Working at heights
• Working in a confined space
• Working in and around noise and dust
• Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
• Must be clean shaven
• Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
• Stand or walk for long periods of time
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
