Job Summary
The CAHRD Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Healthy Living Project Worker. This role is part of a holistic based program that focuses on personal development, fitness, nutrition, and gardening for students of the Aboriginal Community Campus, Neeginan Learning & Literacy Centre, Neeginan College of Applied Technology, and tenants/students in Neeginan Village.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and implement components of the program.
- Assist in planning and developing fitness and nutrition programs to educate students on healthier living.
- Contribute to the operations of the Learning Garden, including daily maintenance, planting, and harvesting.
- Create personal development opportunities for students.
- Supervise students who will be assisting in the operations of the Learning Garden.
- Promote gardening as a family activity.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in an applicable field of study, or an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to learn new skills and responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Ability to creatively design information to promote healthy living.
- Embracing a healthy living philosophy and being skilled at motivating and mentoring students to participate and adopt a healthy living philosophy.
- Knowledge and awareness of fitness and recreational activities.
- Ability to design and lead healthy living and personal development activities.
- Good computer literacy skills and the ability to input, record, and compile data.
- Strong work ethic, with good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Possess facilitation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Applicants are required to submit a resume and cover letter citing the competition number. Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates (Status, Non-status, Métis, or Inuit). Preference is also given to clients who are registered with CAHRD. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
