About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research and Trials Coordinator to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our clinical trials team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of clinical trials and research programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Clinical Trials: Collaborate with investigators, managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate clinical trials, including chart reviews, database development, and surveys.
  • Prepare Grant Applications: Assist in preparing grant applications to various internal and external funding agencies, including coordinating meetings with investigators, drafting applications, and researching literature.
  • Maintain Clinical Research Program Directory: Maintain a comprehensive directory of clinical research programs, including requesting regular updates from principal investigators and adding new study entries.
  • Assist with Financial Tasks: Collaborate with the Clinical Trials Unit to assist with financial tasks related to trials and research studies.
  • Respond to Research Cancer Patient Referrals: Respond to research cancer patient referrals, connect with patients to assess their consent status, and consent patients for research studies.
  • Determine Data Requirements: Collaborate with the Clinical Trials Team to determine data requirements for specific projects, coordinate data capture activities, and capture clinical trials data according to study protocol or project specifications.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant healthcare discipline, such as biology or physiology, and a minimum of one year of recent experience in an application leadership role.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Relevant clinical research knowledge, computer skills, including intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Commitment to Reconciliation: A commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
