Job Description

As a Service Team Member at Michaels, you will be an integral part of our retail team, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in finding products and providing solutions to their needs.
  • Offer a quick and courteous checkout experience and handle cash transactions according to company standards.
  • Inform customers about the benefits of our loyalty program and assist with sign-ups.
  • Keep customers informed about our Voice of the Customer (VDC) survey.
  • Assist with omnichannel processes, including AEL/REM (buy online, pick up in store) and EXP/M (ship from store) orders.
  • Participate in truck unloading, merchandise display, and planogram (POG) processes.
  • Be responsible for maintaining a well-organized store, including receiving and processing merchandise, restocking shelves, and general housekeeping.
  • Perform stock optimization in-store (OSEM) and sales floor setup tasks as assigned.
  • Support loss prevention and safety programs.
  • Adhere to company operational procedures and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, implement company policies and standards.
  • Interact with colleagues in a respectful and professional manner, remain positive and respectful even in challenging situations, promote commitment to the company's vision and values, project a positive image and serve as a role model for others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
Physical and Environmental Demands

The job description must specify the minimum physical demands of the job, such as standing, sitting, lifting, walking, and performing repetitive movements. Describe the environmental conditions for which the applicant or employee should be aware, particularly regarding environmental factors that may pose a health or safety risk.

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to move around the store.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

  • Public retail store environment, all public areas are air-conditioned; some warehouses may not be air-conditioned; you may be assigned outdoor work (picking up shopping carts or during truck unloading); the training room has a glass cutter machine and a heat press; working hours include evenings, weekends, and early mornings.

Michaels requires all team members in this role to be at least sixteen (16) years or older.
