We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admitting Clerk to join our Health Information Services team at IWK Health. As an Admitting Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our unit by performing a variety of reception and clerical duties.
Responsibilities include data entry, transport functions, ordering and maintaining supplies, auditing functions, Point Pleasant Lodge reservations, and arranging for shift coverage. You will work closely with our team to provide excellent patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Data entry for in-patient and outpatient registration, admission, discharge, transfer, and pre-registrations
- Transport functions in accordance with unit and IWK Health policies
- Ordering and maintaining supplies
- Specific auditing functions
- Point Pleasant Lodge reservations
- Arranging for shift coverage
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Completion of a recognized office administration program an asset
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Emergency experience preferred
- Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills required
- Flexibility to work additional shifts preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
- Competency in other languages an asset
