About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parks Maintenance II to join our team in the Parks Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries, and other related amenities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily operations and maintenance tasks for all parks and related amenities
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including chainsaws, front-end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket trucks, and snow removal equipment
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and staff by maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and maintenance
Requirements
  • Level II completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months to one year of experience in parks operations or municipal parks environment, horticulture, golf course, or landscaping
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with Q-endorsement
  • Fall Protection, Flag Person, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, and Parks & Sport Fields Operator Level 1 Certificates
  • CSA Playground Certificate or Pesticide Applicator Certificate
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • Certificates for Chainsaw Safety and Cutting Techniques Training, Confined Space, and Ground Disturbance would be considered assets
