Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Parks Services Department as a Parks Maintenance II. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the city's parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries, and other related amenities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily operations and maintenance of parks, pathways, sports fields, and cemeteries
- Operate a variety of equipment, including chainsaws, front-end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket trucks, and snow removal equipment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of park users and staff
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Level II completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six months to one year of experience in parks operations or a related field
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with Q-endorsement
- Fall protection, flag person, standard first aid, WHMIS, and parks and sport fields operator level 1 certificates
- Clean driver's abstract
- Certificates for chainsaw safety and cutting techniques training, confined space, and ground disturbance would be considered assets
