Parks Maintenance II Job Description

Join the City of Brooks team as a Parks Maintenance II in the Parks Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the city's parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries, and other related amenities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily operations and maintenance of parks, pathways, sports fields, and cemeteries.
  • Operate various equipment, including chainsaws, front-end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket trucks, and snow removal equipment.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment and facilities.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months to one year of experience in parks operations, municipal parks, horticulture, golf course, or landscaping.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with Q-Endorsement.
  • Fall Protection, Flag Person, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, and Parks & Sport Fields Operator Level 1 Certificates.
  • CSA Playground Certificate or Pesticide Applicator Certificate.
  • Clean driver's abstract.
  • Certificates for Chainsaw Safety and Cutting Techniques Training, Confined Space, and Ground Disturbance would be considered assets.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Salary range: $27.64 to $30.26 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Regular working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
  • May include shifts in the evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Free family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during employment.
