Material Handling Equipment Operator

Position Overview:
The Forklift Operator I plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of material handling equipment, ensuring the safe and effective movement of products within the warehouse environment. This role emphasizes product safety, quality assurance, and compliance with legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate full case order picking for inventory replenishment and customer fulfillment.
- Efficient retrieval and placement of pallets within a narrow aisle bulk storage system.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure transaction accuracy.
- Load and unload pallets and cases from transportation vehicles and conveyor systems, utilizing both manual and powered equipment.
- Sort and assemble products onto pallets to meet customer specifications.
- Utilize machinery for applying shrink wrap to pallets.
- Complete pre- and post-operation equipment inspections.
- Maintain accurate storage records through daily cycle counts and routine inventory checks.
- Assist with various distribution tasks as required based on operational demands.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in operating basic powered material handling equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Compliance with all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety regulations.
- Ability to work at elevated heights.
- Demonstrated urgency, attention to detail, and adaptability in meeting deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Customer service orientation.
- Collaborative team player.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

- Ability to adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Competence in reading, writing, and interpreting information.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
- Manual dexterity for handling and manipulating objects.
- Capability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours daily.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as crawling, squatting, climbing, twisting, bending, stooping, pushing, or pulling.
- Visual acuity for close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Capacity to lift and carry items weighing less than 60 pounds.
