About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plastics Machine Operator to join our team at EPL Plastics. As a Plastics Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various plastic manufacturing equipment, ensuring high-quality production and efficient processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment: Identify and resolve issues with plastic manufacturing equipment, making minor adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Material Handling: Weigh and prepare resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae, and monitor the quality of material produced.
  • Operate Mixing Machines: Blend plastic and other chemicals to a specific consistency and viscosity, and unload mixture into containers or conveyors for further processing.
  • Calender Machine Operation: Set up and operate calender machines to transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films of specified thickness.
  • Extruding Machine Operation: Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die, and change dies according to production line changes.
  • Moulding Machine Operation: Set up and operate moulding machines to mould plastic products, prepare and change moulds, and adjust equipment for production line changes.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of raw materials and finished products.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect the quality of material produced, and trim and sand plastic or fiberglass parts as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Site Environment: Noisy work environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, manual dexterity, handling heavy loads, hand-eye coordination, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, reliability, and team player.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.

  • Work Schedule: 35 to 44 hours per week.
