Manufacturing Equipment Operator

Position Overview: The Manufacturing Equipment Operators will manage a variety of machinery, execute batch processing, or operate Powered Industrial Vehicles to facilitate multiple production lines across diverse technologies. This role requires collaboration within a team, with potential rotation of job responsibilities and shifts as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain both low-tech and high-tech equipment, including filling, labeling, packaging, and palletizing machinery.
- Prepare and maintain accurate system records while demonstrating an understanding of LEAN principles.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and assist in determining appropriate actions for equipment settings and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Lead and support problem-solving initiatives and loss reduction teams.
- Build technical skills to clean, inspect, lubricate, and perform both autonomous and planned maintenance on equipment.
- Engage in various functions within the manufacturing environment, including production lines, material handling, and processing.
Safety Commitment: Safety is a fundamental responsibility for all team members. Compliance with safety regulations and participation in the Behavioral Based Safety process is mandatory.
Quality Assurance: Team members will ensure that high-quality products are produced, utilizing various tools and auditing systems to verify compliance with established quality standards.
Collaboration and Communication: Effective teamwork is essential. Team members must engage constructively in meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental principles.
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Physical capability to perform essential job functions, including lifting up to 40 pounds and enduring various physical activities for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Technical diploma or degree.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
- GMP experience is an asset.
