About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plastics Machine Operator to join our team at EPL Plastics. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our plastics manufacturing equipment to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment: Identify and resolve issues with plastics manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Material Handling and Preparation: Weigh and prepare resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae to produce high-quality plastic materials.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect the quality of materials produced to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Operate Calender Machines: Set up and operate calender machines to transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films of specified thickness.
  • Extruding and Moulding: Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die, and moulding machines to mould plastic products.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of raw materials and finished products to ensure efficient production and minimize waste.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by following health and safety protocols and reporting any incidents or near-misses.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in plastics manufacturing or a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to distinguish between colors, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, manual dexterity, handling heavy loads, hand-eye coordination, and standing for extended periods.
  • Language: English.
