POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Service Specialist to enhance our operations.
In this position, you will contribute significantly in the following areas:
· Execute repairs on engine systems within a service environment
· Conduct maintenance and repairs using diagnostic equipment
· Keep comprehensive records of serviced machinery
· Comply with Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental regulations
· Engage in continuous training and certifications on both new and existing Cummins technologies
· Maintain personal tools in good working condition
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(Entry Level):
· Focused on maintenance or basic repairs and diagnostics
· Requires direct oversight and assessment of work quality
(Intermediate Level):
· Capable of performing complex internal engine repairs
· Executes engine overhauls with minimal supervision
(Advanced Level):
· Proficient in troubleshooting with little to no assistance from diagnostic tools
· Handles larger, more intricate engine rebuilds
· Guides junior technicians, providing technical support and documentation

Diagnostics Application - Converts customer complaints into a troubleshooting plan; follows guided workflows, procedures, and specialized equipment to diagnose and isolate failed components for successful repairs; validates repairs by replicating complaints to ensure resolution; documents troubleshooting results in business systems for payment and historical tracking.
Electronic Service Tool Application - Identifies the necessary hardware and software tools for service events; employs the appropriate electronic toolset to maintain products or diagnose and troubleshoot issues; interprets electronic tool results or recommendations to determine subsequent steps for service resolution.
Product Repair and Maintenance - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, utilizing required tools within standard repair times to ensure quality; disassembles and reassembles engines or power generators in accordance with guidelines, ensuring a clean and organized workspace; inspects and replaces parts and components following reuse guidelines to minimize customer ownership costs; conducts progressive damage checks according to guidelines to restore to pre-failure conditions.
Engine Systems Interactions - Analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems (exhaust, heating, cooling, fuel systems, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, etc.) by applying tools, service publications (Cummins, Original Equipment Manufacturer) and taking measurements to efficiently and accurately diagnose and repair.
Health and Safety Fundamentals - Promotes and exemplifies proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in initiatives to enhance health and safety, contributing to an injury-free workplace.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician
Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
Valid local driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
EXPERIENCE
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
Mine site experience is considered an asset.
This position will adhere to all terms and conditions outlined in the IUOE CBA. Shift schedule: 5X2 or 4X3, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend opportunities may be available.
Required: drivers abstract, motor vehicle history report, and Journeyperson Certificate.
