Job Title: Treasury Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Treasury Analyst to join our team at BC Ferries. As a key member of our Finance Division, you will be responsible for implementing treasury strategies and providing corporate support to management by providing advice on financial risk management, long-term forecasting, carbon credit administration, and treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to management in the development, maintenance, and operation of accurate financial forecast modeling, including daily cash flow, fuel deferral account balances, and carbon credit generation.
  • Perform critical analysis, options, implications, and recommendations to Treasury management for strategic and operating decisions.
  • Monitor liquidity requirements and perform daily treasury operations to ensure that they are being met.
  • Research and identify options and provide recommendations regarding financial transactions, such as derivatives, investments, debt, and alternative revenue sources, to mitigate financial risk and optimize financial performance.
  • Ensure that all transactions and treasury activities undertaken are compliant with internal policy/controls, contract obligations, and financial agreements.
  • Promote and support the development and implementation of treasury policies and parameters, ensuring that they are current and providing advice and recommendations for changes.

Requirements:

You have completed an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field. A CFA, CTP-AFP, or CPA designation is preferred. You also bring 1-3 years' treasury, finance, or related experience. The right candidate for this role is a proven strategic problem-solver who is familiar with treasury, banking operations, cash management, capital markets products, qualitative analysis, and data science.
