Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Testing Support Associate, Molecular Testing to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will provide process support and subject matter expertise to the human leukocyte antigen (HLA)/Molecular Testing laboratories. You will also establish, implement, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, prepare, and review Work Instructions (WIs), forms, and training materials to ensure regulatory requirements, consistency, and standardization are maintained.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training material and educational sessions to ensure standardized training needs are identified and met.
- Liaise with other Canadian Blood Services departments to provide input on project proposals, plans, business cases, and decision documents.
- Provide technical support to the HLA/Molecular Testing laboratories to facilitate problem-solving and issue resolution.
- Evaluate and select test kits, reagents, equipment, and software by developing user requirements, specifications, and decision matrices.
- Monitor quality control programs and test performance through monthly reports and recommend corrective action measures.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- Provincial Medical Laboratory Technologist License is required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a HLA/Molecular Testing laboratory is preferred.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, planning, and time management skills.
- 4 weeks of vacation time.

- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week.
- Shift/hours - Monday to Friday, regular business hours.
- Travel requirements - occasional overnight travel required.
- Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
