Job Summary
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Molecular Specialist to join our dynamic Testing team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for designing, conducting, and optimizing molecular assays and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop molecular assays and processes for clinical testing
- Conduct and analyze molecular assays and processes to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Collaborate with medical partners and Testing Operations team members to lead technical molecular clinical assay and process development
- Participate in the development, optimization, validation, and implementation of new, improved, or existing clinical laboratory assays
Requirements
- Masters or Doctoral degree with specialization in an appropriate area (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or Health Sciences disciplines) from a recognized academic institution
- At least 7-10 years of relevant experience with clinical assay design, validation, and implementation
- Highly proficient computer skills for the analysis of complex data, including familiarity with Excel, publicly available genome exploration tools, and databases such as NCBI resources
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
