Job Summary

Clinical Molecular Specialist - Testing and Validation

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Molecular Specialist to join our dynamic Testing team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for designing, conducting, and validating molecular assays and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop molecular assays and processes for clinical testing
  • Conduct and validate molecular assays and processes to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate with medical partners and Testing Operations team members to lead technical molecular clinical assay and process development
  • Prepare and contribute to laboratory documentation, including work instructions and forms
  • Develop and contribute to manuscript or grant development to support clinical work

Requirements

  • Masters or Doctoral degree with specialization in an appropriate area (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or Health Sciences disciplines)
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience with clinical assay design, validation, and implementation
  • Highly proficient computer skills for the analysis of complex data, including familiarity with Excel and publicly available genome exploration tools and databases
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
