Clinical Laboratory Technologist II - Multi-Functional Core Lab
Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services (PLMS)
Position Overview:
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist II is responsible for executing a variety of clinical assessments on laboratory samples while adhering to established protocols. This role includes providing leadership and coordinating workflow within the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical evaluations on laboratory specimens using standardized methodologies.
- Offer guidance and scheduling assistance to laboratory personnel.
- Perform quality assurance checks, analyze, and interpret laboratory results.
- Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment through routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a general laboratory setting.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
Essential Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in operating relevant laboratory equipment and systems.
