DIRECTOR OF TRAINING

The Director of Training will oversee our training programs and resources for franchisees, managers, and hourly staff, reporting directly to the Brand Lead. In this capacity, you will lead our team of Corporate Operations Trainers with enthusiasm and a commitment to providing development opportunities. You and your team will manage our training and communication platform, ensuring that our restaurant teams are consistently informed. The ideal candidate will possess a natural initiative and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality to guests, team members, colleagues, and franchisees alike. You excel in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate training for New Store Openings (NSOs)
  • Coordinate training schedules for the team
  • Manage the Training Team budget, including departmental and team travel/meals
  • Develop and implement effective processes for New Store Openings
    • Advocate for innovative approaches to NSO systems and practices to enhance long-term success
    • Collaborate with various head office departments and suppliers to ensure successful NSOs
    • Ensure the execution of project workback plans
    • Effectively manage and adhere to project budgets
  • Create impactful training materials to improve restaurant skills, knowledge, and execution of key programs
    • Develop and implement job aids, training tools, seminars, etc., to support operational systems and menu programs
  • Assess training and development needs through analysis and regular feedback from key stakeholders
  • Implement and maintain a Learning Management System to deliver and track training initiatives and programs
  • Design and sustain tools and processes that promote a culture of training and operational excellence
  • Develop multi-year operational and training plans with budgets and timelines
  • Create evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of learning outcomes
  • Utilize metrics to continuously enhance the quality of learning and tools
  • Coordinate all menu updates and launches
  • Edit training materials to align with menu specifications
  • Support other departments by providing necessary training
  • Communicate training programs and opportunities to restaurants and Business Consultants

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience leading a hospitality training team within a franchise
  • Degree or Diploma in a related field
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and training platforms (e.g., e-learning)
  • Experience in developing comprehensive training materials for both Front of House and Back of House teams
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Adaptable, energetic, and self-motivated team player
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
