Position: Director – Security, Privacy, and Risk - Cybersecurity Testing
To meet the critical demands of our clients, RSM Canada Operations ULC has formed the Security, Privacy, and Risk Consulting group, consisting of over 250 professionals committed solely to addressing the cybersecurity requirements of our clientele. This group comprises seasoned consultants strategically located across the country, dedicated to assisting clients in preventing, detecting, and responding to security threats that may jeopardize their essential systems and data. We cater to a diverse array of industries and are trusted to deliver expertise in security testing, operations, architecture, governance, compliance, and digital forensics.
We are seeking to appoint a seasoned Director for the Cybersecurity Testing team within our Security, Privacy, and Risk practice. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of various penetration testing and red team methodologies and tools, coupled with a fervor for identifying vulnerabilities and potential security threats. This role is pivotal in aiding our clients to prevent, detect, and respond to security threats impacting their critical systems and data. The Director will further the firm's objective of establishing a world-class consulting practice that provides RSM Canada Operations ULC clients with solutions to mitigate Information Technology security risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance our cybersecurity testing practice through team expansion and skill enhancement.
- Oversee and mentor managers and staff during the delivery of technical services to ensure quality outcomes while fostering staff development.
- Utilize proven business development skills to attract new clients and strengthen relationships with existing ones.
- Identify business opportunities and refine go-to-market strategies.
- Effectively communicate with clients regarding the strategic and tactical risks posed by advanced security threats, the methods employed by malicious actors, and potential preventive solutions.
- Translate complex technical issues into accessible reports and presentations for client senior management.
- Leverage industry and technical knowledge to pinpoint improvement opportunities for assigned clients and assist in developing remediation services for identified issues.
- Ensure revenue targets are met and that client service offerings adapt to the evolving business landscape.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Extensive background and technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: application development, networking/system administration, penetration testing, red team operations, security architecture, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience conducting both manual and automated penetration testing on web applications, network devices, and other systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, and knowledge of cloud security best practices.
- Demonstrated success in leading and expanding a cybersecurity team.
- Proven ability to collaborate with clients in a dynamic environment across various technology stacks and services, including cloud platforms and development technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge and success in identifying and securing new service opportunities and guiding them through the sales cycle.
- Strong capabilities in identifying and addressing client needs, fostering meaningful client relationships, and understanding the client's business.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of success in a professional services firm or large consultancy.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred certifications such as Offensive Security Web Assessor (OSWA), Offensive Security Web Expert (OSWE), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Burp Suite Certified Practitioner, AWS Certified Security Specialist, or GIAC certifications.
- Industry thought leadership.
- Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills; innovative thinker.
- A proven history of success working seamlessly in a hybrid environment to complete projects with team members located in various regions.
- Demonstrates creative thinking, individual initiative, and adaptability in prioritizing and completing tasks.

Compensation Range: $127,645 - $216,855. Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
