About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Rotsaert Dental Laboratory Incorporated. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of dental devices and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Moulding: Prepare plaster models and moulds, and pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures.
  • Training and Supervision: Train other dental laboratory assistants and supervise students in training.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment.
  • Design and Development: Design dental devices and make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys.
  • Polishing and Buffing: Polish and buff dentures.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a commercial dental laboratory setting.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in plastering, packing, waxing-up, casting, polishing, and assembly.
  • Technical Terminology: Familiarity with dental terminology.
  • Equipment and Systems: Experience with medical and biomedical equipment and systems.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and physically demanding tasks.
