Sustainability Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team at George Brown College. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing sustainability initiatives that support our institution's vision and strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement sustainability plans and programs that align with our institution's vision and strategy.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for sustainability and develop strategies to address them.
- Manage the development of tools and resources to support the adoption of sustainability best practices across the institution.
- Collaborate with capital projects teams to ensure that sustainability is integrated into campus operations and processes.
- Develop and implement sustainability reporting and communications strategies to engage stakeholders and promote sustainability awareness.
- Research and evaluate new sustainability best practices, tools, and innovations to inform our sustainability initiatives.
- Support the development of capital and operational budget plans to ensure that sustainability initiatives are funded and implemented effectively.
- Represent George Brown College at provincial and national level in post-secondary sustainability organizations.
- Minimum four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field of study.
- Master's degree or relevant designation (e.g. PMP, Scrum Master, WELL AP, LEED Certification) is an asset.
- Minimum five years' progressively responsible management experience in developing sustainability and community engagement initiatives and maintaining environmental compliance programs in large institutions.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects, process improvements, and change management.
- Experience collaborating with teams leading anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and indigenous initiatives.
- Familiarity with corporate and academic sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. AASHE, STARS, CDP, GRI, IR, UN Sustainable Development Goals).
