About the Role
UNIQLO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will be responsible for managing North America-related sustainability initiatives, communications, reporting, administration, and volunteer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sustainability goals and objectives
- Lead the retail and corporate sustainability teams to ensure alignment with global sustainability strategy
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure sustainability strategy is known and understood
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as NGOs and partners, to promote sustainability initiatives and build strong relationships
- Coordinate employee volunteering events and manage relationships with existing non-profit organizations
- Conduct research and analysis to ensure business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations
- Monitor and report sustainability KPIs, including energy/CO2 reduction measures, HR, recycling, and share with stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate sustainability, ESG, environmental management, or related areas, preferably in the retail or consumer goods sector
- Excellent understanding of best practices and trends in sustainability, especially in retail operations
- Strong business acumen, communication, interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with people from other cultures and a strong understanding of sustainability topics
