About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cook to join our team at Taqueria Playa Tropical Mexican Restaurant Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that showcase our Mexican cuisine and meet the tastes of our customers.
  • Culinary Leadership: Supervise and train our kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to prepare and cook a wide range of dishes.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality, ensuring that all food is prepared and cooked to the highest standards.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are clean and in good working order.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a strong understanding of culinary principles and practices is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a fast-paced restaurant environment, requiring the ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Physical Capabilities: This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, work in a physically demanding environment, and perform repetitive tasks.
Working Conditions

This role is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week. The working language is English, and the work term is permanent.
