About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cook to join our team at Taqueria Playa Tropical Mexican Restaurant Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that showcase our Mexican cuisine and meet the tastes of our customers.
  • Culinary Leadership: Supervise and train our kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to prepare and cook a wide range of dishes.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality in our kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared and cooked to the highest standards.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are clean and in good working order.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a strong understanding of culinary principles and practices is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a fast-paced restaurant environment, where attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
  • Cuisine Specialties: A strong understanding of Mexican cuisine and the ability to prepare and cook a wide range of dishes is required.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Personal Suitability: A strong sense of dependability, flexibility, initiative, and time management is essential for this role.
