Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Specialist to join our team at ANDRITZ. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for the installation, startup, and maintenance of our supplied equipment for dewatering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical checkout of ANDRITZ supplied equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Plan and book service calls within Canada to meet customer needs.
  • Supervise bargaining unit employees when they are used to assist with field service.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers on the operation and maintenance of their ANDRITZ equipment.
  • Verify proper installation of ANDRITZ supplied equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Service ANDRITZ equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Write detailed reports in English outlining situations occurring at the job site.
  • Optimize process performance prior to performance testing.
  • Demonstrate performance based on customer specifications.
  • Maintain a good understanding of electrical and pneumatic controls and problem resolution at site when required.
  • Modify equipment PLC programming at site to meet customer requirements.
  • Promote and further ANDRITZ's goals through the development of good customer relationships and recognized professionalism while at site.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new ANDRITZ technology, both process and startup requirements.
  • Stay current on all OH&S training and wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required for each specific job site.
Requirements
  • Good mechanical aptitude and journeyman millwright experience preferred.
  • Process knowledge of different ANDRITZ manufactured equipment.
  • Experience in reading basic engineering drawings.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Electrical instrumentation and working knowledge of PLC programming with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, and GE is an asset.
  • Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
Physical Demands
  • The physical demands of this position require the ability to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds and have the dexterity to bend and stoop for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and maintain balance on catwalks and platforms.
  • Make visual inspections with precise hand and finger movements, with reasoning and problem-solving ability.
Relationships
  • Interfaces with clients, service manager, service center manager, service center shop supervisor, engineering, and ANDRITZ representatives.
