VP Sales Canada Job Description

As a key member of the Insight Enterprises, Inc. leadership team, the VP Sales Canada will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth and market capture in Canada. This role will oversee the organization's sales activities across the country, developing and executing strategies to significantly grow the business across top clients and market segments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Growth: Execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and gross profit goals.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, including sales managers and account executives.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team.
  • Analysis and Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, systems, costs, and results.
  • Strategic Planning: Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Market Penetration: Identify new market opportunities and develop plans to penetrate these markets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze sales performance to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Customer Engagement: Oversee the development of customer engagement strategies.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize sales processes and workflows to increase efficiency.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize CRM systems to manage sales activities and data, and analyze sales data to generate reports and provide insights to senior management.
  • Decision Making: Use data to make informed decisions about sales strategies and tactics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and customer service, to align efforts and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the company.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, and use market intelligence to adjust strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Financial Management: Effectively manage sales budget, including revenue, gross profit, and expense targets, and set financial growth targets.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the sales staff, including directing sales efforts, performance managing staff to a specific sales quota, coaching, team building, goal setting, and professional development.
  • Recruitment and Development: Recruit, hire, manage, and develop a world-class sales organization.
  • Compensation Structure: Provide leadership and direction in the development of the sales compensation structure, ensuring consistency and fairness throughout, and recommend improvements to the existing compensation structure to better motivate and reward sales staff for desired performance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; MBA is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 10-12 years in sales management in a consulting, high-tech, or service-related industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills in teamwork and communication across multiple organizations.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IT products and services.
  • Performance: Proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas.
  • Client Experience: Experience working and winning with mid-market and enterprise clients.
  • Strategic Planning: Experience in strategic planning and execution, knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management, and knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and gross profit/revenue expectations.
  • Sales Methodology: Experience in implementing sales methodology that drives solutions and services.
  • Communication Skills: Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to motivate teams to produce results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Language: Bilingual – French and English – highly desirable.
