About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Funeral Attendant to join our team at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes. As a Funeral Attendant, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service to families during their time of need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and conducting funeral services, ensuring a smooth and respectful experience for families.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of our funeral home facilities, equipment, and grounds.
  • Load and transport funeral vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • Support licensed directors with daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Transport families to and from services and gravesites.
  • Welcome families to our chapel for visitation and funeral services.
  • Provide seating guidance and hand out funeral service folders.
  • Assist with setting up the chapel or church for services, including flowers, photo displays, and other memorabilia.
Requirements
  • Completion of the Funeral Director diploma or enrollment in the program is considered an asset.
  • Professional, helpful, and caring demeanor.
  • Physically fit, able to lift and carry up to 50 kg, and move a casket.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Current Class 5 (non GDL) driver's license with a driver's abstract and clean driving record.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, with a second language considered an asset.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Google Docs.
  • Knowledge of iPhone use.

  • Core shift times of 8:30am – 4:30pm, 75 hours biweekly.
