Position Overview: The Impact for Breakfast organization is on the lookout for a pioneering Chief Executive Officer to spearhead our transformative initiatives and establish our foundation from the ground up. Collaborating with donors and various stakeholders across the nation, the CEO will champion our mission to empower underserved communities, particularly focusing on women, youth, and early-stage entrepreneurs in their journey to develop and expand successful enterprises.

Reporting Structure: The Chief Executive Officer will report directly to the Board of Directors and will engage with our partner organization, along with other key stakeholders, to formulate a comprehensive business strategy aligned with our strategic goals. Aiming for an annual revenue target of $5 million, the CEO will build support networks, assemble a dedicated team, and develop the necessary infrastructure to facilitate significant growth.

Leadership and Management: The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges faced by start-ups. Utilizing their innovative thinking and business expertise, the CEO will position our organization as a sustainable and scalable charitable entity. This role requires a hands-on leader with proficiency in governance, operational management, financial oversight, fundraising, and program development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Board to define a long-term strategic vision for the organization.
  • Develop annual business plans that align with the organization's mission and objectives.

  • Ensure accountability and public trust by establishing systems to measure and report on organizational impact.
  • Identify strategies for long-term sustainability and funding diversification.
  • Forge partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance collaborative efforts.
  • Maintain transparency through regular updates to the Board and supporters.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and laws, particularly those concerning community rights and charitable operations.
  • Innovate and implement programs that reflect the organization's commitment to impactful and efficient service delivery.
  • Utilize technology to improve program execution, communication, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Commit to data-driven decision-making to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Continuously assess and refine program strategies to meet the evolving needs of the community.

Revenue Development:

  • Work with the Board and staff to identify potential revenue streams.
  • Prepare grant applications and solicit donations.
  • Lead donor engagement efforts and establish a supportive fundraising infrastructure.
  • Adhere to ethical fundraising practices to maintain the organization's credibility.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials that align with organizational goals.

Community Engagement and Advocacy:

  • Develop strategic relationships with community members, government entities, and corporate partners.
  • Build a robust national network that supports the organization's mission.
  • Engage with community members to ensure their involvement in program development.
  • Advocate for awareness of community entrepreneurship challenges.
  • Create communication strategies to amplify the organization's impact.

Governance:

  • Assist in recruiting and orienting Board members and volunteers.
  • Attend Board meetings and provide necessary reports for oversight.
  • Work with the Board to establish governance policies and procedures.
  • Identify and manage organizational risks in collaboration with the Board.
  • Develop and monitor agreements with partner organizations for shared services.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and reporting requirements.
  • Recommend resources to meet strategic priorities.

Team Development:

  • Lead the recruitment, training, and support of staff and volunteers.
  • Foster a culture of mentorship and professional growth.
  • Promote an inclusive and respectful organizational culture aligned with our values.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated cultural competence and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Experience in start-up environments with a track record of growth.
  • Senior leadership experience in program development and revenue generation.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience with Boards of Directors.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
