The Role

As a Resident Coordinator at Wing Kei, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the nursing team, ensuring that our residents receive the highest level of care and support.

Key Accountabilities

  • Advocate for the Wing Kei vision and mission, promoting a culture of excellence in seniors care.
  • Perform the functions of a Registered Nurse, adhering to CARNA standards and regulations.
  • Assume the role of Charge Nurse, providing clinical support and supervision to LPNs and HCAs.
  • Lead the unit team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among staff members.
  • Develop and implement care plans, ensuring accurate medical documentation and MDS data entry.
  • Manage nursing supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient use and responsible ordering practices.
  • Communicate with pharmacy to meet residents' medication needs, maintaining accurate records and controls.
  • Provide nursing assessments, process physician orders, and assist with medical procedures.
  • Offer cognitive, social, and emotional support to residents, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance their quality of life.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, ensuring high standards of service and best practices in the field.
  • Perform other direct care activities as needed, including daily living and personal hygiene tasks.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse who is aligned with Wing Kei's vision and mission. The successful candidate will possess:

Current CARNA registration and CPR (BCLS) certification.Proven clinical assessment skills and effective leadership abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.Experience in supervising nursing staff and working in Long Term Care or Support Living settings is an asset.
