About the Role
The Health Care Aide is a vital member of the Bethany Care Society team, responsible for providing exceptional care and support to residents, their families, and volunteers. This role requires a passion for delivering high-quality care, promoting resident independence, and maintaining dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Resident-Centered Care: Provide personalized care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document and report resident care and observations to the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in a timely manner.
- Safety and Risk Management: Contribute to a safe environment for residents, staff, and self by adhering to safety guidelines and practices.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and change resident care needs.
- Professional Development: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth, aligning with the values and mission of Bethany Care Society.
Requirements
- Grade 10 education and a Government of Alberta approved Health Care Aide certificate
- Previous Health Care Aide experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment
- Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Position Information:
- Position Classification: HCA
- Position Type: Part Time Permanent
- Shift And Hours of Work: Evenings
- Shift Per Cycle: 14 shifts in a 5-week rotation
