The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mining Field Service Specialist to join our team at Wajax. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to our customers.

The Role

  • Perform all tasks related to assembling, testing, repairing, diagnosing, maintaining, and reconditioning mining equipment on-site and in the shop.
  • Work as a team member on assigned projects, including new builds, major outages, machine moves, and more.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with project team members, project leadership, and customers.
  • Update and maintain applicable check sheets, service records, warranty forms, and other documents as assigned.
  • Properly document and submit hours worked to ensure proper tracking on large projects.
  • Participate in manufacturer-provided and in-house service training.
  • Conduct housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and orderly jobsite.

EH&S

  • Participate in all required Health & Safety Training.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
  • Perform daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
  • Meet requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments.

Technical

  • Clean and prep parts and components for assembly into new builds.
  • Inspect parts and components prior to installation/assembly to identify any defects/issues.
  • Communicate work performed and complete service paperwork daily.
  • Service and/or repair equipment in the shop and on-site for the customer.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mining equipment, components, and systems.
  • Recondition and remanufacture components as required for equipment, engine, and hydraulic repairs.
  • Work with Manufacturers online support.
  • Follow established assembly manuals and check sheets where applicable.

The Candidate

  • Education: Trade Certification, Journeyperson Red Seal
  • Work Experience: > 10 years mobile mining equipment repair & maintenance
  • Knowledge: Proficient written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to work with teammates and customers, exceptional customer service, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Candidates can reside anywhere in Canada - remote position
