The Opportunity

As a key member of the Wajax team, you will lead all technical support to external and internal customers, driving continuous improvement and total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction initiatives. You will be responsible for the Mining Rebuilt center, regional Parts and service business, and the National Mining project team.

The Role

  • Develop and implement a consistent reliability and technical support process to ensure customer technical meetings are beneficial and drive continuous improvement in product problem resolution, engineered upgrades, and OEM support.
  • Manage and improve component rebuilds processes and procedures to add value, increase reliability, and reduce cost.
  • Project manage mining machine builds and major outages, including understanding project scope, customer requirements, and terms and conditions.
  • Manage the procurement of auxiliary/support equipment and suppliers as required for assigned projects.
  • Support project supervisor(s) as required during builds.
  • Responsible for supporting the business of Parts & Service sales to customers.
  • Manage Parts & Service sales and ensure profit margin targets are met.
  • Identify issues and work with co-workers to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Provide training and support for all Parts & Service technicians and supervisors.
  • Ensure that parts inventory levels meet customer demand and service levels meet customer expectations.
  • Manage branch personnel performance, safety, training, and customer service.

The Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with 10+ years of experience in mining equipment maintenance, repair, and assembly. A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering or HET with management experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance planning, organization, reliability engineering, project management, and computer skills.
