We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Resources Coordinator to join our team at Seabird Island Band. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and responding to referrals related to natural resources and environmental impacts.
Key Responsibilities- Research and analyze data to inform decision-making on natural resource management and environmental sustainability.
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and communication plans to ensure effective collaboration with community members, stakeholders, and government agencies.
- Conduct social, economic, and environmental analyses and assessments to inform land use planning and resource management decisions.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Liaise with government agencies, industry partners, and community groups to advance the interests of Seabird Island Band.
- Develop and implement special projects to address community challenges and opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental studies or a related field.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Stó:lō culture, history, traditions, and language is an asset.
- Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
