We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Sushi Harbour. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality sushi dishes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including sushi and other Japanese cuisine specialties.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and ensure that all food is presented in a visually appealing manner.
- Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, and ensure that all food safety and handling procedures are followed.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
- Work Setting: This role is based in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and requires the ability to work under pressure.
- Physical Capabilities: The role requires standing for extended periods, and repetitive tasks.
- Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
