Job Summary

This is a temporary position that requires a skilled Millwright to install, inspect, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and building systems in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure proper working order.
  • Perform repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, steam, and refrigeration systems.
  • Work at various hospital sites, including multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to achieve departmental goals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements
  • Current Province of Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified tradesperson.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment of the trade.
  • Willingness to provide own hand tools of the trade.
  • Ability to bend, crawl, lift heavy items, climb, and work from ladders and scaffolds.
  • Ability to work in areas that are cold, hot, dusty, dirty, noisy, amongst machinery, at elevated levels, and in tight spaces.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a face respirator in areas containing asbestos or other hazardous materials.
