Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Executive Director, Health, Wellness, Safety and Ability Management at Island Health. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Occupational Health, Business Administration, or a relevant healthcare discipline, along with a minimum of 15 years of experience in senior management/leadership roles in a large multi-union environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for health and wellness initiatives, including budgeting and staffing.
  • Stay up-to-date with contemporary and best practices in injury prevention and occupational health and wellness.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to achieve organizational goals.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners.
  • Ensure the physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
Requirements
  • Sound working knowledge of planning concepts related to budgetary, staffing, occupational health and safety, and strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks effectively.
