Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Gasfitter to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a key member of our Climate Control Division, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining gas lines and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain gas lines and equipment, including meters, regulators, and heating units.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems on-site, in the shop, or over the phone.
  • Test, replace, or certify defective equipment as required.
  • Perform annual inspections, service, and repairs on construction heaters.
  • Advise clients on safety features and maintenance of gas units.
  • Accurately document all service and repair information.
  • Complete daily hazard assessments on-site and/or in the shop.
  • Complete daily circle checks on forklifts and/or service trucks.
  • Deliver/pick-up small equipment from sites as required.
  • Assist with loading/unloading equipment as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions.
  • Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Gas Fitter with 'A' ticket.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, preferably working with temporary heaters.
  • Considerable knowledge of designing and installing temporary heating systems at construction sites using natural gas, propane, and diesel equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair various heating equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and practices regarding LP/NG use, equipment servicing, permitting, and installation at construction sites.
  • Ability to read/understand building and mechanical plans, job specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal resources.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and satisfactory abstract.
  • Complete set of tools (or in the process of acquiring one).
  • Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Flexibility to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
