About the Role

GK Renovations Services Inc is seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients receive high-quality flooring installations that meet their expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate measurements and precise markings.
  • Material Selection and Installation: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, and measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding as needed.
  • Carpet and Flooring Installation: Measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors, as well as resilient floor coverings, hardwood floors, and other types of flooring.
  • Estimation and Scheduling: Estimate costs and materials, and prepare flooring plans and scheduling to ensure efficient installation processes.
  • Removal and Preparation: Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants, and prepare floors for installations.
  • Specialized Tasks: Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces, employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting, and install materials on counter tops and raised platforms.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the flooring installation industry.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
